Duskfade Known Issues: Launch Crash and the 95% Stall
Duskfade has no published patch notes or known-issues list. Here is which problems players report more than once, which are single reports, and the fix status.
The short version
The studio has published no patch notes and no known-issues list.
Players have reported several problems. Two of them have more than one independent report:
- A crash on launch with a UE Fatal Error.
- A collection counter stuck at 95-98% with no obvious missing item.
Both are covered below. We do not print fixes we have not verified.
Crash on launch (UE Fatal Error)
Two players describe the same thing:
- The game crashes every time it launches with a UE Fatal Error. Other Unreal Engine 5 games run fine on the same machine.
- The second player points at
Duskfade-win64-shipping.exeand does not think the CPU is involved. - Neither player solved it. The first one refunded the game; the second was refused a refund because of demo playtime.
- There is no developer reply in that thread.
What you can do: send the full error text and the executable information to the studio through their official channel. We have no verified fix to give you.
Collection counter stuck at 95%
There are two sources, and they give different reasons. Both are listed.
Reason one: the HUD counter and the real requirement do not match.
A player posted a breakdown on 5 September: the 203 collectibles counted by the regional HUD are 47 N1-Coins, 38 Echoes, 36 Upgrade Gears, 26 Flasks of Dye, 17 Music Boxes, 12 Star Cores, 12 Clock Hearts, 8 Rainbow Ingots and 5 Thieving Kittens. Another 13 Broken Stained Glass Shards are not counted by the HUD but still count towards completion. The Tick Town shop sells four more items (2 Flasks of Dye and 2 Rainbow Ingots), and you need all 10 Rainbow Ingots to forge the final sword.
Reason two: high-up chests in early regions were missed.
A community site says a 95% stall usually means missing chests in early areas such as Tick Town and Ezarus Forest that need the grapple or glide tools to reach, and suggests rechecking region by region.
A note on sourcing: the first breakdown was posted as verified against the game code. We do not treat that as fact and quote it as a player’s HUD breakdown. Neither reason is officially confirmed.
Official status
- SteamDB records two release-version builds: the 13 August launch and one on 24 August that came with no notes at all.
- The newest Steam news post is the 9 September artbook announcement, which says nothing about fixes.
- A player asked on 9 September whether a patch was planned. There is no public reply.
